The History Department is pleased to cover the expenses for your travel—transportation, lodging, and meals. In order to ensure that your travel plans meet the needs of your schedule, we have made arrangements with World Travel, Inc. to assist you in booking your airfare, ground transportation, and lodging.

Air Travel

Newark Airport (EWR)
The most convenient airport from which to access Princeton’s campus is Newark Liberty International. Newark airport is linked directly to Princeton’s local train station via the New Jersey Transit system.

Trenton-Mercer (TTN)
There is also a small regional airport near the University: Trenton-Mercer airport. Only one airline, Frontier, operates out of this airport, and only to a limited number of other destinations. However, if this works for you, it’s a short cab ride away from Princeton’s campus.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
These airports are not nearly as accessible to/from Princeton. If possible, we recommend flying into Newark Airport.

Train Travel

  • Visitors travelling from the NYC area via MTA or from the greater New York area via Metro North or LIRR systems should transfer at Manhattan’s Pennsylvania Station to the NJ Transit System, and then view  Ground Transportation from Penn Station to complete the journey.
